Barbara Porter: Groveland’s cable provider needs to offer more than just Fox
This is my first letter to the editor. Just made Groveland my home and I am loving it. However, to my surprise, I turned on my TV, looked on the guide, and CNN and MSNBC were nowhere to be found. I consider myself open-minded; occasionally I watch Fox News and Greta Van Sustern. I have been told that our cable system, Sierra Nevada Communications, has tried to negotiate a deal with CNN to no avail, stating “there were too many constraints.”
It would be great if another attempt was made to accommodate all the residents of our community. There just might be a few of us who have that particular political leaning. We would really appreciate the opportunity to view CNN and MSNBC.
I met a woman at the Groveland Library sale, who whispered to me when I picked up a Jimmy Carter book, “Are you a Democrat?” In my USA, I hate to think someone’s political leanings have to be hush-hush.
