Judy Olson: Bringing Christian principles to forefront of assissted suicide debate
Re “Open letter against assisted suicide” (Page 1D, Aug. 30): Bishop Stephen Blaire’s treatment of this emotional issue is well written and reinforces the role of Christian thought in legislation. He states the importance of being a voice for those who may be “manipulated out of the way” and with those who believe this option will lessen the value of human life. I suggest there needs to be a voice for the medical staff who will be asked to terminate a life when they have been taught to save lives. Haven’t we seen the results of legalized life-taking with the abortion fiasco?
