Ken Groves Jr.: Mayor Marsh has done a good job; keep him on the job

The competent leadership of Garrad Marsh has strengthened the Modesto community, building up its industrial base while promoting recreational and cultural venues. Being co-owners and operators of Modesto Bowl, the mayor and his wife Dallas have long provided jobs, family recreation and tax revenues; encouraging others to be entrepreneurs.

Mayor Marsh has always led through example. This is a much-needed quality during the lingering economic downturn.

A Navy veteran, Garrad Marsh served to keep America free. Today, he remains dedicated to improving public safety. The mayor has expanded budgetary dollars, in part, through his fiscal policy of reducing city employee pensions and other benefits whenever doable.

Regarding the issue of sustainable economic growth, Marsh supports ACE train expansion. He recently hosted a Modesto informational/scoping meeting that featured Assemblymembers Adam Gray and Kristin Olsen and Senators Cathleen Galgiani and Anthony Cannella. Full service ACE for Modesto would improve transportation for commuters, provide cleaner air and increase job opportunities across the Modesto, Sacramento and the Bay Area. Keep your eyes trained for future ACE progress.

I urge voters to re-elect Mayor Marsh and retain competent leadership.

Ken Groves Jr., Modesto
