Kent Faulkner: DA Fladager should recuse herself
I was astounded when I read the headline that Frank Carson and others were arrested for murder. After I read the entire 326-page affidavit, which was full of character assignation, innuendos and supposition, I was embarrassed to be a resident of a county with a District Attorney who would file such a worthless document.
Finally, I am ashamed to be a member of the California Bar which has as a member a judge who would sign arrest warrants based on such a flimsy document. Seems to me the best thing for our District Attorney would be to recuse herself, considering the history between her and Carson. There is, at the very least, the appearance of impropriety. Of course, the State Attorney General might take one look at the “evidence” and conclude it does not pass the sniff test.
Kent Faulkner, Modesto
Editor’s note: Frank Carson ran against Birgit Fladager for Stanislaus County District Attorney in 2014.
