Buddy Davis: Want less crime? Approve measure to fund more cops
Recently I had to purchase two new tires for my auto. Upon somehow hearing this, a degenerate “tweaker” neighbor came over, noted the tire size and informed me he could get them for half price. I declined. My brother needed to a new auto battery. A different degenerate tweaker told him he could get one at half price. My brother declined. Then he was told about a small group of thieves, all tweakers, operating within Stanislaus County. They welcome “orders” for specific items, then go to WalMart, Home Depot, etc., to steal them.
To get a fuller picture, you need to know these people also steal autos, identities and burglarize homes. Occasionally they are apprehended but receive light sentences.
What does one attribute this reprehensible system of justice to? Start with the taxpayers who rejected Measure X. Law enforcement was not exaggerating when it stressed the need to obtain more funds to adequately serve us. Consequently it is almost impossible for crime rates to significantly decrease. There are many factors contributing to crime.
Apparently another proposal to assist our seriously underfunded law enforcement agencies will be put before us. Let us aid the people whose job it is to aid us.
