Cathy Frey: Area health centers deserve recognition

During the week of Aug. 9-15 we celebrate National Health Center Week. This week recognizes the important contributions not-for-profit, health centers make in their respective communities across America. In the Central Valley, health centers have been providing access to affordable and quality primary care services for well over 45 years.

The benefits of health centers to our community’s health are indisputable. By keeping people healthy in a cost-effective setting, health centers help reduce the need for more expensive emergency or specialty care. Healthier people result in healthier communities. On the occasion of National Health Center Week, the Central Valley Health Network wants to recognize and thank the staff of our Central Valley health centers for their dedication to providing quality care in the communities they serve.

We encourage you to visit your local health center during National Health Center Week and see for yourself the amazing work these people do every day.

Cathy Frey, CEO Central Valley Health Network, Sacramento
