Ann Burkett: Desalination works on cruise ships, why not here?
This is the answer to our consumer water-use drought problems. After having been on many cruises, desalinization on cruise ships is working. Three-thousand passengers onboard is a small percentage compared to our population, but seawater, when desalinized, is successfully used for all fresh-water needs. We need this concept down the road for what lies ahead.
