David K. Ford: Yes, ‘it’s time’ ... for Donald Trump

Re “Trump could send a Clinton to White House, just like 1992” (Page A1, Aug.1): First, the fact that we are 15 months away from the next presidential election is reason No.1 why it is ridiculous to have a front-page article predicting a “Hilarious” Clinton victory in 2016. But I suppose if you are McClatchy, and any of the many Bee newspapers throughout the valley, it’s never too early to start beating the drum for your girl. Perfect example of the media creating news and stirring the pot.

So I’m eager to read this piece to find out just why somebody thinks another Clinton is a good choice. And all I get is a quote from a retired woman saying “it’s time.” Just like it was time for an African-American eight years ago. Don’t be concerned with qualifications, integrity, honesty or love of country; just worry about what’s PC. OK, got it.

Reading between the lines, what this poll tells me is you guys are really concerned that Donald Trump is the front-runner for the Republicans. He’s saying what people who love this country are thinking. Polls like yours try to sabotage candidates like him, make people think what’s the use? Not me. Trump for president. It’s time.
