John Wetzler: Why no commen sense in California’s priorities

We the people have no say in what’s going on around us. Common sense tells us we need reservoirs to store water that will come when this drought cycle ends. We will be told that it will take 10 years to construct them, so why build them. We are told the tunnels must be built to send water to the south, and we lose control of our future. We are told we need to be taxed again because our roads are falling apart, and the money that was supposed to be used was spent already through the general fund. We are told that billions of taxpayers’ dollars have already been spent on the “bullet train” as our infrastructure crumbles and we must build a train that will never pay for itself. The state says we have a surplus but can’t pay its debts. The programs for the needy are crying for more money and the politicians will do anything for their votes without paying for what has already been spent. Welcome to California!
