Bob McManus: Does wearing a dress make you a hero, ESPN?
How how brave can one person be in their lifetime? Imagine being brave enough to grow your hair long, buy a dress and high heels, buy a couple of implants, and sign a contract to be on television. Give that man an award, oh but wait! Now talk about brave, imagine having the nerve and guts to give a woman a mind-altering drug and then actually getting in bed with her. Really, couldn’t ESPN afford two trophies so both Bruce and Bill could each have their own?
I’m sure there are brave athletes who have battled cancer, family crisis, worked to make the world a better place to live, helped disadvantaged children, aided in fund-raising for community projects, who now are hanging their heads in shame as the flagship of sports broadcasting awards Bruce Jenner a hero’s award. They have hit an all-time low for the sake of ratings.
