Anna Bennett: Supreme Court no longer upholding our Constitution

Holding a seat on the Supreme Court is a lofty position. Power is powerful and can become a sedative. The sense of power can alter an otherwise judicious mind. It is frightening for the citizenry to be at the whim of the Supreme Court’s mulling of the minds to place judgment on issues that come before them. Ultimate trust is held in the highest court, the U.S. Supreme Court.

The people expect the Constitution will be upheld as it was written by our forefathers. Every word is written to protect citizens. Since when does the Supreme Court have the right to draw up their own constitution? Even if an amendment might seem pleasing to some people and not to others, this is not the issue at stake. It is the fact the Supreme Court is not any longer upholding our Constitution.
