Charles Byrd: State should ignore same-sex marriage decision
On June 26, five arrogant “justices” of the Supreme Court, who think they are smarter than God, redefined marriage. The lawyer caste would have us believe this is the end of the debate. It is not. Dred Scott didn’t end the debate on slavery and Roe v. Wade didn’t end the debate on abortion. Obergefell v. Hodges won’t end the debate on protecting real marriage.
Congress can and should use its Article III powers to limit the Judicial branch’s ability to hear such cases. They can also use this power to remedy Roe v. Wade and the more destructive decisions of the Warren Court. Also, they can and should launch impeachment proceedings against Justices Anthony Kennedy, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Sonia Sotomayor, Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan.
The states can and should exercise their Tenth Amendment rights to nullify, or in other words, ignore the Obergefell decision. The Supreme Court is not as powerful as it wants us to think it is;, what better way to show the impotence of the court than having state governments thumbing their noses at it?
