Thomas S. Rose: Audience should show respect during MoBand concerts
I always enjoy returning to my hometown of Modesto from Seattle. My most recent visit, though, came with a less-than-happy experience. When I attended the MoBand concert in Graceada Park on July 2, I was dismayed by the rude behavior of attendees, specifically loud talking by many while the band was performing. I understand this is an outdoor venue, and I expect some quiet chit-chat among audience members. But the verbal exchanges going on here exceeded the worst of any Seattle audience I have experienced. Having lived in both places, I always thought Modesto was superior to Seattle in almost every way. Sadly, I no longer believe that.
On a positive note, the MoBand performance was excellent, and I congratulate the band members on a job well done!
