Joe Kimmal: Mosquito control employee does a good job

Re “Grand jury blasts mosquito district” (Page A1, June 30): The Eastside Mosquito Abatement District person we have in Wood Colony does an excellent job and I hope nothing changes when it comes down to this person’s job. Why would the Stanislaus Civil Grand Jury recommend that county supervisors appoint new board members when one supervisor said it’s hard to find people to serve?

I wonder how many times the county has publicized that they are looking for someone to serve on this board? Woodland Avenue Fire Department had an opening for a board member recently, does anyone know about that? Board members are appointed by the supervisors’ good old boy club.
