David Donovan: Finding sanctuary from alien criminals

Re “Suspect in killing deported 5 times” (Page A6, July 4): I read in The Bee that the (illegal alien) killer of an innocent woman on Pier 14 in San Francisco recently had been released from jail on April 15 without notification to federal immigration authorities, who had requested to be notified. This deliberate failure to keep this felon off the streets was because San Francisco is a “sanctuary city,” and thus the San Francisco government does not cooperate with the national government in these matters.

Question: Where do law abiding citizens in San Francisco go for sanctuary from sanctuaried alien criminals?
