Ray Lee: Support for Visitors Bureau and its two staffers
Re “Tourism plan criticized” (Page A1, July 6): I have had the distinct pleasure of working with the Modesto Convention and Visitors Bureau for many years, in particular Jennifer Mullen and Dana Hohn. Throughout this time I have come to realize that Jennifer is the most energetic, hardest-working and enthusiastic cheerleader for all things Modesto. I think she works seven days a week promoting the city and always with a smile on her face. Obviously, I was shocked to read the City Council did not renew a contract for the bureau.
Jennifer is a special individual who interacts extremely well with anyone she comes in contact with and is passionate about her job and, more importantly, about the city of Modesto. The Convention and Visitors Bureau plays an integral part in the success of Modesto. With that said, I hope the City Council will revisit its decision and maintain the Convention and Visitors Bureau with Jennifer Mullen and Dana Hohn in place.
