Rachel E. Ladd: Puppy shouldn’t have been left inside a car at mall
As a pet owner, I was sadden to read about the young pup stolen from a vehicle at the mall. However, a responsible pet owner should never leave a pet (or anything of value) unattended in a vehicle. Every day the news is full of stories about thieves stealing anything they can get their filthy hands on. It is one thing to take your puppy for car rides to become accustomed to traveling, but a lack of judgment was shown in leaving it alone. Certainly whoever stole the puppy is a terrible person, but the owner is also to blame for the loss of her puppy.
