Francine DiCiano and Michael Alexander: Senators key to providing health care for all
We are writing on behalf of the United Way of Stanislaus County and the United Way of Fresno County to express our appreciation to our local state senators, Anthony Cannella and Andy Vidak, who recently voted for SB 4 – appropriately called “Health for All Act.”
It was historic! For the first time, a bill passed in the California Senate to give all residents, including immigrant families, the opportunity for access to health-care coverage. This is important not only to contain health-care costs, but also to keep our residents healthier through access to preventive and regular care.
For the first time, this bill passed with bipartisan support – thanks to our valley senators, Cannella and Vidak. We are proud of you and we thank you. We are now hopeful SB 4 will get this same bipartisan support in the Assembly as the bill makes its way through the legislative process.
