Eric Angelo: Kiwanis do it all for good of community
Re “Profits drove rise in ticket prices” (Letters, June 23): I wanted to take the time to write in response to the attack on the North Modesto Kiwanis. The club is made up of civic-minded men and women who provide countless volunteer hour to better the lives of many in our community. No fundraiser is done for profit; all money to support the club comes from club members and social events. For the record, North Modesto Kiwanis’ tireless efforts produce: Chicken A Go Go BBQ at Davis Park; the Graffiti Festival, car show and parade; a golf tournament to benefit CASA and, in conjunction with city of Modesto, Breakfast with Santa. All done with the efforts of volunteers from North Modesto Kiwanis members, family and friends. Kudos to NMK.
