James Peck: How did company end up owning names of our landmarks?
Re “Yosemite deal sparks questions” (Page B1, June 21): I am happy to see Delaware North gone. In my opinion they destroyed food service at Yosemite Lodge and Curry Village years ago. But what burns my rear is that somehow DN was allowed to trademark Yosemite landmarks and is now trying to extract blood money from Aramark to secure naming rights that were there long before Delaware North existed! How could the National Parks Service allow such a thing to happen? It’s absurd, reprehensible and indefensible. Listen up Jeff Denham, no commercial entity should be allowed to claim the names of landmarks in our national parks!
