Pat Corona: True rehab facility will help community
Re “Growing Alabama firm building rehab hospital in Modesto” (Page B1, June 12): I was so pleased to read that Modesto is going to have a new rehab hospital. Hopefully, this will be a true rehab hospital, with a full daily schedule of therapy for patients. The current skilled nursing facilities provide very limited amounts of therapy though they call themselves “rehab centers.” It is about time and so welcome! People from Modesto should not have to drive to the Bay Area for this necessary part of health care. Having worked in an aggressive rehab hospital in Marin County almost 40 years ago, I witnessed the tremendous outcomes for patients receiving proper rehabilitation services.
