Letters to the editor | Friday, Feb. 28, 2020: Congressman Josh Harder gets love from readers
Give Harder a second term
Josh Harder has already proven to be an asset in his service to the 10th Congressional District of Stanislaus County and the San Joaquin County cities of Tracy and Manteca.
Congressman Harder has done a fine job in his first year in office, successfully sponsoring bills with bipartisan support. He serves on the Committee on Agriculture subcommittees of Biotechnology, Horticulture and Research. He also serves on the Committee on Education subcommittees on Education, Labor, Health, Labor and Pensions.
Congressman Harder’s Modesto office is open to all of us, seniors and young students included. He advocates issues of importance to each of us. He has a positive outlook with much more yet to accomplish. He deserves another term.

Harder backs jobs training
I am writing in support of the re-election of Congressman Josh Harder. In his short time in D.C. he has shown he is dedicated to all members of our district and makes being accessible to his constituents a priority, holding public town halls across the Valley, hosting open office hours where community members can meet one-on-one with him as well as telephone town halls to stay in touch with his district while he is back in Washington.
Congressman Harder believes, as I do, that public education creates opportunity. His work on the House Education Committee supports this belief. Harder’s proposed legislation would provide important job skill training to a wide range of students beginning in elementary school, and supports career and technical education with partnerships between trade schools, colleges and high schools. Current dual-enrollment programs allowing students to earn college credits while still in high school would be expanded which would ease some of the financial burden of a college education.
Congressman Josh Harder has my vote.

My vote goes to Harder
Josh Harder is responsive to the needs of our area. He actively supports veteran benefits, homelessness, immigration, water resources, health care, and education. He’s brought money into our valley to support these efforts.
Josh Harder helped 1,000 people in the Valley cut through bureaucratic red tape. He introduced the No Health Care, No Raise Act which would guarantee Congress can’t give itself a raise until every person in the United States has health insurance. I was pleased to hear he cosponsored a bill that allows retired teachers to draw Social Security benefits that were earned but currently denied. I urge you to check out his impressive work for our area while dealing with this difficult time in Congress.
