Eggman is ready for Senate
We each represented San Joaquin County for eight years in the State Senate. The issues then — including Delta water, access to college, and economic development — remain a challenge. Today, homelessness and energy reform also require a smart, committed legislator.
Assemblymember Susan Eggman is that leader. Let’s move her up to the State Senate so Stockton and Tracy and Manteca and Linden and Escalon and Ripon and Lathrop and Lodi — as well as Modesto and Riverbank — can have a really effective voice in Sacramento.
Susan was born and raised in Turlock; she graduated from Stanislaus State; she served in the Army; she was a nurse and a social worker. Susan served with distinction on the Stockton City Council during the most difficult period of the last recession. Elected to the State Assembly, she was immediately recognized a leader on education, health care, and protecting the fragile Delta environment.

West Side needs Condit
I support District 5 Stanislaus County supervisor candidate Channce Condit.
His belief is that “local government is meant to be closest to the people it serves.” He definitely has the people he will serve in mind. He wants to protect our West Side water rights for residents and farmers. He knows how crucial water is to our community and our survival. His desire is to bring jobs to his constituents, particularly using the Crows Landing Naval Air Field. He has a great compassion and need to address the homeless problem in our area. He admires and wishes to help our local veterans with their needs.
Condit is energetic, proactive, and accessible. For the last few months, he has walked Newman and the other areas he will serve, spoken to our community members, and has been visible at our local events.

More immigrants, no; Howze, yes
So here we are in California lacking rain again and our governor is more concerned with inviting illegal immigrants and those from other states coming here for his free everything.
Our air and water are polluted. A new dam would have held fresh, clean snow runoff instead of wasting it. Waste has become the Democrats’ way.
I am voting for Ted Howze for Congress. Perhaps then we can improve our state in realistic ways. We can’t help outside people. There are too many of us already.
Leanna Cox, Turlock
Harder listens and engages
Congressman Harder was in Manteca meeting with seniors in a retirement facility, participating in a ribbon cutting and holding office hours where he met one-on-one with constituents. Not unusual, one might say, for a politician seeking re-election. What is unusual is the fact that Harder’s schedule was business as usual when he is not in Washington. He hit the ground running and has not slowed down. What sets him apart is that he continually shows up throughout his district.
I attended the latter two events in Manteca and found the Congressman to be as engaged and interested in his constituents as ever. There was no media or fanfare, no unannounced, quick photo-op and then out the door. Not only did Harder show up and answer questions, he made himself available to everyone. Most importantly, he listened.
Congressman Harder’s record speaks for itself. I encourage everyone to not only vote to keep Josh in office, but to also seek him out if you have not had the opportunity to meet him. I assure you that you will not be disappointed.
Carol Bradley, Manteca
