Vance Kennedy: Prof. Fogg clears up any misunderstandings about groundwater

For those interested in a better understanding of groundwater, there is an article on the internet by UC Davis Professor Graham Fogg that is excellent. It was mentioned briefly by Mike Dunbar in the editorial on May 23. I would urge high school teachers to consider discussing it in their science classes. It certainly is pertinent to everyone’s daily lives, and future generations are going to have to live with the facts discussed. The title is “Groundwater Problems and Prospects. Part 1: An Overview of Groundwater.” There are several additional parts which should be read by those interested in the politics of water. The article can be found on Maven’s Notebook, a respected internet water blog at http://mavensnotebook.com/2015/03/12/groundwater-problems-and-prospects-part-1-an-overview-of-groundwater/. You do not have to be a hydrologist to understand it, and there’s even an excellent video that accompnies it.
