Clay Thomas: Forcing families to vaccinate children plays into big pharma’s hands
Re “Legislature should end ugly fight, pass vaccination bill” (Opinions, June 9): Why are you, the editorial board (probably Mike Dunbar, but we’ll never know because The Bee doesn’t see fit to publicly own up to printed opinions, unlike requirements for the general community riff-raff submitting letters) so in favor of forcing citizens to vaccinate? It’s illogical.
First, it used to be a free country. Next, it’s self-punishing whereas only the un-vaccinated would catch the targeted disease. Then there’s that pesky issue of the possible correlation between autism and vaccination chemistry.
That’s what’s right and just. But then, we’re not really into that justice thing, are we? This is more about controlling the masses, I think, the government and big pharma knows best. Or is it bigger than that?
Let’s go “conspiracy theory” here for a sec: if the general rabble all vaccinate, then the upper caste won’t have need to subject their own progeny to the vaccination process, now will you/they? Well, it’s probably less devious – more like big pharma driving the bus.

Editor’s note: All of The Bee’s editorial positions are those of the editorial board, which includes Publisher Ken Riddick, Editor Joe Kieta, Editorial Page Editor Mike Dunbar and our visiting editors. Dunbar chooses Opinion Page content, adds editor’s notes to letters when necessary and often writes opinion columns, which are by-lined.
