C.D. Wilkinson: Are we enforcing the rules or not?

The water police apparently have no authority. I’ve called three times on the same water waster with zero results. The first call, the lady who answered said there were four to five other calls on the same waster and they would do something about it! My second call – same waster, not only water flowing into the street, but running sprinklers on a non-watering day – their reply: “We will do something about it!” My third call, same waster, the lady was profoundly upset and was going to have the water turned off!

On May 25, at 6:30 a.m., Memorial day, same water waster, water was pouring onto Briggsmore on a non-watering day. The maintenance people at that shopping center are thumbing their nose at Modesto. No regard for the rules and regulations imposed on Modesto citizens. Someone in Modesto government, please push yourself away from your desk, get out of your chair and fix the problem! No more lip-service from the water police.
