Nadine Gilbert: Why are those annoying commercials so loud?

Now that there is so much technology, I would like to know why every TV program has to be turned up to hear the program and turned down when the commercial comes on. It is so irritating to be cooking dinner and have to yell to be heard over the commercial. It’s bad enough to have commercials at all, but to have to have them so loud you can’t hear anyone else is intolerable!

I guess no one can insist the television supervisors make the sound equal between the program and the commercials?
