Jake Van Holland: Farmers not at fault for this drought
Don’t blame the farmers. These are the people who put the food on your tables every day; they have no control over the water at the reservoirs, the pay taxes and buy groceries, vehicles, etc. They buy in your town. They supply many jobs and keep the economy going. We would not be able to live if there were no farmers. They don’t get paid vacations, overtime for when they have to work seven days a week, no sick days and no pensions. All of that is coming out of their own pockets. Treat them as you would like to be treated and we will live a good life.
