Vicki Rice: Earth Day turned into an amazing celebration
As a community, we celebrated many amazing things throughout Earth Day and all were made possible because of your support. Listed below are just a few of the accomplishments:
▪ San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District shared information on local air quality and the district’s role in reducing pollutants;
▪ The Stanislaus County StaRT bus provided a free shuttle, seeing record numbers of riders;
▪ The B-Green event from Boyett Petroleum raised funds for the Wesson Ranch Park project;
▪ The city gave out tree saplings and a variety of vegetable plants;
▪ The city’s Water Conservation Department gave out shower timers and irrigation gauges;
▪ Ditto’s and Bertolotti Disposal sponsored the “Trashformation” Art Contest;
▪ Prime Shine shared how they “wash green” and re-use filtered water;
▪ Peer Recovery did recycled art projects with hundreds of kids;
Special thanks go to our generous and numerous sponsors whose contributions made this community event possible.
