Michael Nunez: Neighbors had to get feral cats neutered
Last year, our neighborhood seemed to be plagued by feral cats. I use the term “feral” to describe them because I was not able to tell if they belonged to anyone. They appeared to be under fed and neglected. The unfortunate part was that it was obvious they were not spayed or neutered. To minimize the population, some neighbors came together and decided to trap them to get them fixed. They were able to do this through the low-cost spay and neuter programs such as The SAVE Clinic and the Cat Network. My message is simple: If you are going to have pets, especially cats, get them spayed or neutered and take care of them. Be a responsible pet owner for the sake of the neighborhood, and above all, for the sake of your pet.
