Katherine Ferrante: Flowers serve as a reminder to cherish the day

Just as my mother and I left O’Brien’s the cashier handed my mom a beautiful spring bouquet with a note. The anonymous woman only asked that she had left the grocery store before mom was given the flowers. “You remind me of my Mom. Your daughter is lucky. I would give anything to be able to shop with my mom. I’m 56, I was 36 when she passed. Have a great day and make memories.”
