Elizabeth Rutledge: Testimonial for staff of Heald College
I recently read an article about the closing of Heald College in Modesto. I’m disgusted by all the comments on Facebook from people saying Heald students should go to a “real school.” I have friends who have very real jobs after completing their programs at Heald, including myself.
It would be nice to see an article about those of us who have finished and have started working. Heald was a “real college” and I enjoyed my time there. I made some life-long friends and, compared to those I work with who went to schools like Unitek in the Bay Area, I have more knowledge in the field I am working in. Real people, real school, real jobs and real dreams. Thank you, Heald staff, for all you did for us!
