Sandy Clark: Town Hall meetings were informative, beneficial

On April 21, I was fortunate to attend the first Modesto Police Department’s Town Hall meeting in the southwest area. I live in the northwest area, but wanted to support this event. There were representatives from all the different MPD departments along with Mayor Garrad Marsh, City Manager Jim Holgersson, and representatives from the fire department and the parks, recreation and neighborhood department.

The presentations were extremely informative, as were the questions and answers regarding area issues. The officials offered prompt and thorough discussions to every question. It was especially helpful to find out about future programs being developed to benefit neighborhoods.

These events are for the people of Modesto to have their chance to ask tough questions and begin networking and collaborating with city officials. There are three more Town Hall meetings scheduled. Consider attending and becoming part of “being a better neighbor” in Modesto.
