Edward Keene: Bad manners on full display during State of Union speech
As an elementary school teacher I strive to teach my students good manners and appropriate behavior. I watched some of the State of the Union address and was shocked at the rude behavior of people who are supposedly leaders of our country. Sitting there with nasty expressions and refusing to even make a small effort to applaud, a portion of our legislators representing the Senate and House demonstrated horribly bad behavior! We wonder why our kids behave badly, but they just mimic what they see. For those that lean left, I’m sure Republicans behaved the same way when President Obama spoke. It doesn’t matter which party is represented, that behavior and bad manners is not acceptable.
