John West: Both left and right need to start being more truthful
Re “Trump’s lying contributes to ‘truth decay’” (Page 11A, Jan. 19): Your story sounds like people just don’t want to know what truth really is. And the reason is it would cause the left and the right to stop this blame game and take a hard look at themselves in the mirror. They just might not like what they see. Sure, President Trump needs to stop spouting off so much and being so defensive every time someone attacks him.
On the other hand, the left needs to stop going on TV about what their sources are telling them and just give us the facts. Jesus said the truth will set you free. Lies will keep you so bound up to the point that you dig a hole in the ground that you just can’t climb out of. Yes, we have our opinions whether left or right. Just be sure to wrap it in the truth.
John West, La Grange
