Barbara Muny: I thought Modesto was a tree city; so why chop mine down?

The city of Modesto tree-trimming crew came and cut down the tree in my front yard. They said it was dead, but it produced a lot of leaves to be dead. They left just a stump. Are they going to come back and remove it? Are they going to replace it? I thought Modesto liked all the trees? How wrong I was.
