Steve Murov: Denham’s support for Trump means he must go in 2018
Leadership and investment in science have played a large role in making our country great. Stanislaus County can be proud of the many unique and exemplary community programs available that strive to improve public understanding and interest in science. Examples of these programs include MAPS, the MJC Science Colloquium, Science on the Screen at the State Theatre, science events at Stanislaus State and Enochs High, three Science Olympiads, a Science Fair and the Great Valley Museum exhibits and activities including a monthly astronomy night. More information on these events is available at the website: http://murov.info/calendar2018.htm .
Unfortunately, the Trump administration has taken action to minimize and marginalize science and environmental issues. President Trump’s actions and policies are placing our future and especially of children at extremely high risk. Equality, dignity, integrity, science and the environment need to be restored to a much higher priority and bigotry needs to be eliminated.
After Trump, Americans will have to work very hard to make America great again. Since Jeff Denham generally supports the policies of the Trump administration, we need to vote to replace Denham in 2018.
