Richard Oliver: Obama has driven us far deeper into debt
Re “How is Obama destroying America” (Letters, March 23): I’d like to explain how President Obama is ruining this country. First, the overall national debt will more than double from approximately $10 trillion to approximately $21 trillion in his eight years. The interest-only payments on this debt will exceed $10 billion a week. We are borrowing more than $1 million a minute over what comes in. This President smiles and assures us we are finally back on sound fiscal ground thanks to his policies. He assures us that if we hadn’t gone many trillions further in debt these last six years we’d really be in trouble now. Huh?
He made it clear that if you sneak into this country illegally you will be rewarded. So people are flooding here right now. It appears that illegal aliens are getting better service form our society than veterans.
Why would the President do that? Votes.
So I’m not that excited about global warming, equal pay for women, or being friends with communist Cuba. If the fiscal sinkhole he’s putting us in doesn’t turn around, the other things won’t matter.
