Vance Kennedy: Don’t forget, irrigation contributes to groundwater recharge

Re “Getting a little feverish doing drought math” (Opinions, April 12): I think the column regarding water use by agriculture is the best I have seen in a long, long time. A copy should be sent to every politician in California as well as to the State Water Resources Control Board. The column did not even mention my favorite point that a significant part of that water “used” by farmers to flood irrigate ends up being pumped out by cities when flood irrigation recharges the water table. It’s an important point that needs repetition, especially in the Valley.
