Lee Roy Surber: Don’t make names of gun permit holders public

Re “Don’t hide concealed carry info” (Opinions, April 21): There is no legitimate reason the names of those with concealed carry permits to be published. The people who go to the trouble and expense to become a permit holder are not the ones doing gun crime. They value their right to defend themselves and loved ones. It involves a lot of effort and expense to become a permit holder. The criminals do not have permits and carry anyway. How would publishing the names of permit holders make anyone safer? It would only expose permit holders to exposure to criminals and harassment. How would this help anything?
