Tom Koehler: Some facts about Uranium One and Hillary Clinton

Contrary to much belief, Uranium One does not have a license to export uranium to any country – let alone to Russia. The United states only produces 2.1 percent of the world’s supply of uranium. Worldwide production of yellowcake (concentrated uranium) in 2015 was 60,496 tons. The United States produced 1,256 tons, which is 11 percent of what we use with the rest imported from other countries.

In 2015, Uranium One produced 71.1 tons of yellowcake. Yellowcake is not weapons grade uranium. It is normally used for fuel in electrical power plants. The sale of Uranium One, a Canadian company, had to be approved by nine United States agencies because it owned mines in the U.S. The State Department was represented by Under-Secretary of State Jose Fernandez. He stated Secretary Hillary Clinton had no involvement.

The nine members could disagree on the sale, but only the President could reject it. The FBI investigated the sale several times; if there was any Clinton Foundation connection to the sale, it was not found
