Tony Weber: Golden Valley has served Patterson since ’77
Re “We need more, not fewer, health care options” (Opinions, April 4): I was happy to read about The Bee’s support for increased access to health care services for the Valley’s residents. However, it was misleading to state that Del Puerto Health Center was the only option left for the Patterson community to seek care.
Golden Valley Health Centers has been serving the Patterson area since 1977 with an array of services. Our healthcare providers in Patterson, which include a physician, pediatrician, OB/Gyn, physician assistant and counselor offer high quality, patient-centered care and our 22 support staff provide health education, insurance enrollment and more. More than 25,000 unique patients were seen last year at our Patterson health center alone.
GVHC has long recognized the need for quality, primary healthcare in the Patterson community as demonstrated by the 10 percent annual increase in medical visits we have experienced in the last five years. To address this demand, we are planning another expansion of our facility in 2015. The addition of five dental staff will add 4,000 patient visits per year! I encourage the Patterson community to check out our website: www.gvhc.org and Facebook page for announcements about upcoming events, expanded services and more.
