Beverley Herrero-Hart: So what is really irking you about ERs?
Re “Emergency rooms are not picnic areas” (Letters, April 7): I doubt many who go to an emergency room think it’s a place for fun or adventure. For most, visiting the emergency room of any hospital it isn’t at the top of their “to-do” list.
But if you didn’t come to the hospital by ambulance, it’s really not an emergency. So why waste the hospital’s time? And God forbid someone who isn’t sick tags along to sit beside you. How sad it is when someone has to go to such a place alone; to have to go through a painful situation alone. Regardless if it is an emergency or not, going to the emergency room alone isn’t a picnic, either.
I don’t understand why some can be so angry toward others who have the chance to get the help they need.
No one has a right to judge who should be seen at a hospital. There have always been crowds in emergency rooms even before I was born, and that’s been a long time.
Obamacare out of control? Perhaps, but not for the reason cited by the letter writer.
