Nancy Carvalho: Veterans had their day, but should have started with the pledge
Veterans in Modesto were honored Saturday as they should be. The service and parade were wonderful, as well as the music, free popcorn and the crafts and military booths. But, once again, we did not say the Pledge of Allegiance. Why?
If this generation forgets, how will it ever be passed on to future generations? I wish there was an emoji to portray my deep sense of sadness.
