Ed Holt: Unofficial count found 141 speeders between Modesto, Sacramento

On a recent trip to Sacramento, we wanted to see how many vehicles were going 75 mph plus. We traveled Highway 99 from downtown Modesto to Highway 99 and Highway 50 and traveled at the posted 65 mph speed limit. The count stopped at 141 vehicles traveling 75 mph or faster. These vehicles were also the ones tailgating, constantly changing lanes and doing up to three lane changes at a time.

Such behaviors contribute to accidents and road rage. These inconsiderate people endanger my family and everyone on the highway. Where was law enforcement? Nowhere, except for the two who were part of the 141 speeders. Is the CHP serious about traffic safety and highway deaths? If so, this is where it starts. City streets are not much better.
