Ryan Camp: Denham’s staff helped veteran finally get his medals
A few months ago I was approached by a WWII Navy veteran who had a simple request. This 91-year-old man wanted the ribbons and medals he earned during his service. Not sure about the easiest way to go about this, so I collected his separation papers and letters from the Navy and contacted Rep. Jeff Denham’s office.
The Congressman’s office was expedient, efficient and very respectful of the fact that we were dealing with a WWII hero. Thank you to Rep. Denham’s staff for the time and effort they put into this task. The process took a few days with sending and receiving documents, and during that time I always got a call or response by email within the day of inquiry.
I had the privilege to present the veteran with his medals and ribbons recently. He was so very proud and thankful that after 71 years he finally got his medals.
