John Moore: We had a 15-inch deep pothole on Frazine; how about fixing it?

As a long-time reader of The Modesto Bee I have never really written to complain. But as we seem to be getting taxed for roads from every corner, it is only fair to put the road in front of my house on the repair agenda.

With two newer schools (one middle, one elementary) on this street, it seems as that it should be regularly maintained. We have school buses, teachers and parents driving up and down the road twice daily, not to mention the residents of the street.

There are so many potholes and patchwork repairs it seems like I am driving in a war zone. Just this summer there was an orange cone placed in a large (18 inches) hole by the canal crossing. The cone sat 15 inches down in the hole.

So I am puzzled how the government always seems to plead for more taxes to repair roads when very few repairs seem to be started or completed. All I’m saying is fix Frazine Road so our buses, trucks, cars and motorcycles will last a little longer.

PS – Maybe make the street wide enough for the bicyclists who like to ride to school and the children who have to walk will be safe.
