Mary Biglieri: Don’t expect trickle-down raises ever to reach your pocket

Citizens of Modesto and everywhere, watch what is happening in our Congress in Washington. Large tax reductions are being proposed for the very wealthy. When the taxes from the wealthy have disappeared, the budget for Medicare and Medicaid will have to be seriously slashed. Where will you be if you need a knee replacement so you can walk again? They are expensive.

Leaders in Washington say with these sharp reductions in taxes for the wealthiest people in our country new companies will be started to employ large numbers of people. We have heard this before; it’s called the trickle-down effect. It doesn’t work. Few new jobs will be started, just more benefits for the wealthiest citizens. Contact your congressman.
