Doris McGee: City of Modesto tells me it’s too broke to fix my streetlight
Modesto can spend $125,000 for the bicycle tour but doesn’t have funds to replace a much needed street light? The light at the end of Cherrywood Avenue has been out for over a month and it’s very dark in this corner at Westland Drive. Several people, including myself, have called and were told the city didn’t have the funds. The city should spend our tax dollars where they are most needed. Maybe it’s time to remind the city leaders that they can be replaced when election time comes around. Instead of paying off lawsuits, let’s get things fixed, especially things like street lights.
