Byron Chapman: Gilman only candidate willing to get MID costs under control

The Modesto Irrigation District is vital to our community. MID provides irrigation water to our farms with 3,100 irrigators accounting for $5,056,000 in revenue. MID, in partnership with the City of Modesto, provides drinking water to 69,000 customers accounting for $21,050,000 in revenue. MID provides electricity to all of us with 115,000 customers, accounting for $356,158,000 in revenue. Due to these vital services, your vote for MID director is mission-critical.

My choice for MID is Stu Gilman instead of the current director running for re-election. We have to get MID electric prices and their out of control salaries and retirement pensions under control. The only candidate willing to tackle those issues is Stu Gilman. He needs our vote to go to work for us.

Byron Chapman, Modesto
